Our owner and head trainer, Otis Threlkeld, Jr. and is a former U.S. Army Staff Sergeant. Otis proudly served his country for more than a decade, during which he gained valuable skills and experiences that have shaped his life and career after the military.

During his service, Otis worked as a Small Arms and Artillery Repairman for 3 years, where her learned the ins and outs of weapons repair and maintenance. Following that, Otis became a Paralegal NCO and served in that capacity for 7 years. Otis assisted soldiers with legal issues and provided support to the command staff, giving him a broad perspective on the inner workings of the military.

While stationed in Germany, Otis developed an affinity for training German Shepherds in Schutzhund. Schutzhund is a sport that tests a dog’s intelligence, obedience, and ability to protect their owner. Through this experience, Otis developed a deep appreciation for the intelligence and loyalty of this remarkable breed.
